Bestselling author Bret Anthony Johnston, known for We Burn Daylight and Remember Me Like This, will speak at Lone Star College Montgomery on March 20 at 7 p.m. The event, hosted by the Montgomery County Literary Arts Council Writers in Performance and Lone Star College.

Bret Anthony Johnston to Speak at Lone Star College Montgomery on March 20

Lone Star College Montgomery is set to welcome internationally bestselling author Bret Anthony Johnston on March 20 at 7 p.m. in Room G-102, as a feature of the Writers in Performance series. Johnston, an acclaimed novelist, short story writer, and screenwriter, has garnered multiple literary honors, including the National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowship, the Glasgow Prize, and the esteemed Sunday Times Short Story Award. His novels We Burn Daylight and Remember Me Like This have received significant praise, along with his short story collection Corpus Christi: Stories.

In addition to his fiction, Johnston has served as the editor for Naming the World and Other Exercises for the Creative Writer and authored the documentary film Waiting for Lightning, which was distributed worldwide by Samuel Goldwyn Films. His work has been featured in esteemed publications including The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Esquire, The Paris Review, The New York Times Magazine, and The Best American Short Stories.

Johnston dedicated more than ten years to leading the creative writing program at Harvard University before assuming his present position as the Director of the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas at Austin.
