A Montgomery County worship leader has been arrested on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child after a church pastor reported him to law enforcement. The suspect, a volunteer at the church, was released on bond, and authorities are seeking further information.
Sean Carroll Aveilhe, 51, has been arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child following a report made to law enforcement by a pastor from a Montgomery County church.
On January 4, deputies from the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office were dispatched to Breath of Life Church in Oak Ridge North, as indicated by court documents. A pastor notified authorities that a friend of a 10-year-old girl claimed Aveilhe had purportedly assaulted the child on several occasions.
The victim said she no longer wished to visit Aveilhe’s home due to his “weird” behavior. According to the documents, Aveilhe and his wife were babysitting the victim and her siblings at the time the incidents reportedly took place. The child additionally stated that Aveilhe displayed an explicit video and would cease his actions only when his wife came into the room.
After the allegations, the victim underwent an examination at St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital, where she reiterated her claims to a nurse.
Aveilhe was taken into custody but subsequently freed on a $100,000 bond. His upcoming court appearance is set for March 18 at 9 a.m. in the 9th State District Court in Conroe.
Officials encourage anyone with information to contact the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office at 281-364-4211 and request to speak with the lead detective.
