Ahead of the May 3 election, the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce will host a public forum to discuss the proposed $480 million Montgomery County road bond, with insights from Precinct 1 Commissioner Robert Walker.
A public forum by the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce will give people in Montgomery County a chance to learn more about the upcoming $480 million road bond plan. The event is being held with the help of Montgomery County Precinct 1 Commissioner Robert Walker. It will happen at the Owen Theatre, 225 Metcalf St., in Conroe on Tuesday, April 16, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
A social media post from the Chamber says that people who go can expect to learn more about the planned projects' scope, how they might affect businesses and residents' taxes, and how they might affect the community.
People in Montgomery County will decide what to do about the $480 million road bond on May 3, just a few weeks before the event. The bond plan, which was first put on the ballot by county commissioners on February 11, includes 76 road projects across the county. Thirteen of these projects are in Precinct 1, which is represented by Commissioner Walker.
If approved, the money would pay for various infrastructure changes, such as wider roads, better intersections, and higher levels of safety, to meet the county's growing transportation needs.
The April 16 meeting gives people a chance to talk to local leaders face-to-face, ask questions, and learn more about how the bond might affect the future infrastructure of Montgomery County and how it might affect businesses' bottom lines.
