CONROE, TX—After Hurricane Beryl knocked out power to over 252,000 Entergy Texas customers in Conroe and surrounding areas, the company's swift response earned it recognition from city officials.

The Category 1 hurricane caused extensive damage, leaving broken poles, transformers, and downed wires. Thanks to the around-the-clock work of nearly 2,400 Entergy employees, power 

Entergy Texas was recognized for its prompt action in restoring power to more than 252,000 consumers impacted by Hurricane Beryl. The Category 1 hurricane caused widespread destruction, resulting in the downing of 806 poles, the damage of 400 transformers, and the disruption of 150 miles of power lines. A dedicated workforce of nearly 2,400 employees worked tirelessly to restore electricity in a safe and efficient manner, despite the extensive damage.

In Conroe on August 22, Mayor Duke W. Coon and Councilman Howard Wood expressed their gratitude for Entergy Texas's extraordinary efforts during a City Council meeting. The corporation was recognized for surpassing expectations in power restoration during the storm's devastation. Three crucial individuals from Entergy Texas were awarded the prestigious crucial to the City in recognition of their hard work.

Eliecer Viamontes, the President and CEO of Entergy Texas, was recognized for his leadership in supervising the restoration endeavors. Stuart Barrett, Vice President of Customer Service, accepted his award, despite his inability to attend the ceremony. Kenny Muhammad, who was accountable for customer relations in Montgomery County, was instrumental in guaranteeing that communication was influential during the crisis. Corrin Barrow, the Customer Service Manager for Conroe, was acknowledged for her dedication to ensuring service reliability and addressing customer concerns.

Councilman Wood expressed his gratitude to Entergy Texas for its timely and efficient response, stating, "Our City's Emergency Management Team and First Responders encountered significant obstacles in the aftermath of the disaster." Entergy's team collaborated with City officials to eliminate obstructions and restore power, essential for the community to regain its footing.
