Historic Montgomery County Hospital Transformed into Senior Living Community

CONROE, TX –The former Montgomery County Hospital has undergone a substantial transformation, reopening as a vibrant senior living community as a result of the redevelopment efforts of Kansas-based Overland Property Group. 

  

As of spring 2023, the historic building has been transformed into 47 contemporary efficiency, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units specifically designed for residents aged 55 and older. 

The project was completed on Tuesday morning, and the first residents are scheduled to move in this week. A grand opening ceremony was held to commemorate the occasion.

The structure, originally constructed as a hospital, has a rich history that spans several decades. In July 2022, Overland Property Group was granted tax credits to facilitate the renovation, which was designed to maintain the building's historic character while also providing modern living spaces for seniors. 

The redevelopment is consistent with a burgeoning trend of repurposing historic structures as affordable housing options for older adults, thereby addressing the growing demand for senior living facilities.

The new community provides a variety of amenities specifically designed to improve the quality of life for its residents. These include landscaped gardens, communal spaces for social activities, and convenient access to local services and transportation. The living spaces are thoughtfully designed and planned, indicative of Overland Property Group's dedication to establishing a supportive environment for seniors.

Community leaders and residents convened to commemorate the revitalization of the historic site during the grand inauguration.
