More than 249,000 registered voters in Montgomery County, Texas, have already cast their ballots, surpassing the early turnout estimates from 2020. Approximately 54.6% of the county's 456,477 registered voters participated in early voting, which consisted of 249,526 ballots submitted before Election Day. Although this is a somewhat lower proportion than the turnout in 2020, which was 64.2%, the county's voter registration has dramatically increased, with 87,313 additional voters since the previous presidential election.
Throughout the early voting period in Montgomery County, which began on October 21 and continued through Friday, a record number of ballots were cast in person and by the mail, as reported by Montgomery County Election Central. This year's early ballots included 9,736 mail-in submissions, which is a decline from the 22,963 received in 2020, a year that witnessed a spike in mail-in voting owing to the influenza pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus.
It is anticipated that rain will fall across the state of Texas on Election Day, which may affect voter participation. Nevertheless, Suzie Harvey, the administrator of elections for Montgomery County, stated that early voting was successful, with polls being crowded and some delays occurring due to excessive queues.
On Election Day today, polls are open for those who choose to vote from seven in the morning until seven in the evening.
