This 45,000-square-foot structure will improve the organization's capacity to offer essential services to children affected by trauma. The new facility, which is anticipated to open on Loop 336 East in the fall of 2025, will function as a sanctuary for support and rehabilitation.

The new center will be located on 17 acres of land, surrounded by mature trees, which will create a tranquil environment for children and families in need.

The first floor will include a conference and training center for community events, a law enforcement area, and a Healing Garden that is intended to foster recovery and well-being.

A light-filled sanctuary will be provided on the second floor for counseling services, enabling children to share their narratives and receive therapeutic assistance. Additionally, Family-Based Safety Services personnel will be integrated into the multidisciplinary team to provide support to non-offending family members in the areas of education and parenting.

The initiative has received substantial community support, including a $2.5 million commitment from the Woodforest Charitable Foundation for the naming rights to the new facility.

Since 2009, the foundation has been a consistent contributor to Children's Safe Harbor.

The organization evaluated more than 8,200 reports of child abuse and provided services to over 2,300 children across Montgomery, Walker, and San Jacinto counties in 2022.

The objective of Children's Safe Harbor is to establish a collaborative environment in which agency professionals collaborate to expedite the investigative process for child abuse cases, thereby reducing the trauma experienced by young victims.

However, the new facility will not only increase its capacity to serve but also improve the quality of care provided to vulnerable children and their families.

The organization remains dedicated to its mission of attaining justice and healing for every abused child in the community as construction advances.
